Samsung had their very first Global Developers Conference last Monday and Tuesday. It’s about time. Apple has their legendary and mythical WorldWide Developer Conference (WWDC) where every year Steve Jobs would change the course of the earth’s rotation along with our future.
Samsung is beating Apple in the smartphone market – and this is without an organized developer base or program. Until now.
I spoke on a panel (with a VP of eBay, Intel Capital and Path) about ‘wearable’ devices and the future of mobile development. Of particular interest was Galaxy Gear (the really cool smart watch that everyone wants). Actually I had a lot more to say about the prospects of using wearables and augmenting social human behavior – particularly using “proximity” detection and game theory – plugging the research projects that I lead.
